About
Artist Bio
Alex Stoner is a senior at PiM Arts High
School, primarily focusing on screen printing,
illustration, and photography, with some
interest in film as well.
Searching for the story beneath the project, he
observes the underlying narratives of past
experiences to compose his work. By picking
up the scattered pieces of a composition, and
weaving them together into a continuous
story, he brings touching emotion to his art.

Artist Statement
Alex Stoner creates art as a way to illuminate stories in a new light, focusing on this as a main theme throughout his works. Narrative artist & illustrator Ray He has inspired him to focus on the large themes and small details that make a story feel real. Alex commonly explores the saying that, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” and looks to express this in his art both with and without text.
Alex focuses on creating work by screen printing and drawing with pencil and pen. Outlines and highlights often make his works easy to look at and stand out. He uses a variety of mediums to illustrate ideas; Ink for ebb & flow, wood for practicality, glass for elegance. His style has been influenced by manga, such as Dororo and Fullmetal Alchemist. Warm and cool color palettes are common among his works, as is symbolism and experimentation with new concepts. These
include adding 3d elements to 2d pieces, and showing emotion with variation in line.
